I was offered the option of a mortgage through the builders bank meaning I wouldn't have to pay for valuations or surveys because these had already been done. This "should" be making the process...

I haven't purchased in San Rocco, my apartment is further up the west coast in Cosenza.
Looking back though things weren't right from the start, we purchased from Parador properties who went bump...

Be careful if you are looking to paint both sides of a wall, most external treatments dont work because they stop the wall from breathing to let the moisture out (its got to go somewhere!)

thinking about it the best option would probably be to paint the wall inside with a liquid resin (same as what you would use to seal a wetroom, aka tanking) to act a a barrier stopping the damp...
