Applied for defacto state-sponsored visa (Victoria) in May 2008 - finally granted 30 January 2009 - so had to wait 9 months (when our agent originally estimated 3-6 months).

Successful completion of NQT year does count as one year work experience. Its worth getting in contact with a migrant agent, they will tell you if you are eligable for any visa & their requirements....

A completed NQT year does count towards teaching work experience. I was an NQT last year & my induction year has been accepted for my visa. So its worth getting this checked for your visa
