I have read that to get a Texas driving licence (and maybe elsewhere, but Tx is where Im going), you require an SSN.

OK, so I can get an SSN (L1 visa holder), what about my wife (L2 visa)...

(10) On this basis, we presume that no reciprocity is extended to residents of Texas...
