We arrived in May and started in Brisbane We got jobs more or less straight...

Thanks so much for this reply, it really helps to hear other peoples who are doing the same thing. We fly out May 2nd, we have booked with brisbane bound, ive heard loads of good things about them...

Mine too:( 2 Days ago. Im gutted! We were due to complete but the coal board have decided that they want to appeal a decision not to mine near our house. Goodness knows if we will get another buyer...

Hi All,

Does anyone know how hard it is to learn to drive in/around brisbane, I dont drive in the U.K as where we live theres no need, but I really think Ill need to in Oz!!

That sounds lovely and It sounds as though the landscape/ areas are very varied. Theres so much to look for.
Is there everything you need there, i.e cheap food, docs, school and do you get alot of ...

You have 12 months but that can soon run out! as i said earlier ours has taken seven months to get an offer, then you have to complete/ exchange contracts, thats another 3 months.

We fly out to brisbane in April. 2 adults, 3 kids and ours are under £2k Expedia is much cheaper than anywhere else ive found.
Used them before to tennerife and we had no probs.

Thanks, thats really helpful. As for a firm checklist, heres one I prepared earlier!
Good state Schools /good area for Kids
at least 4 beds
Garage
Pool (bribe to kids for going!)
Big garden...

:confused: Are you sure you are not confusing uk with australia? I can see uk giving out "boat grants" but not so sure anywhere else would be as "friendly" :rofl:
