Dude, i would reccomend ditching the modem and investing in an all in one ADSL Router/Wireless unit from Linksys, D-Link or Belkin. Less hassle and less parts to go wrong. easy to set up all you need...

Actually Brisbane City Centre is not on the coast, but the Brisbane Metropoliton area actually does include coastal areas (such as Manly & Redcliffe). Brisbane City Council has wards in these places....
