Thank you Rete, he has been an LPR for seven years so is not relying on the fact he's married to a USC.

On that note, does anyone know how long it's currently taking for citizenship applications...

Er, not according to any US government website I've looked at! I was pretty shocked that you only have to show you have met once face-to-face in the preceding two years.

Thank you Pulaski. I wonder why they do this then? Is it because the green card can be revoked within those two years if you split up or if the USC spouse dies or something?? <shudder>

I think you should be fine as your refund will be issued by CHC London. Those of us who had already paid but not landed before the fee was reduced had/have the refunds issued by the Receiver General...

I landed in June 2006, stayed in Toronto for a week and sent the refund form to Ottawa with my cousin's address on it when I came back.

Cheque was issued on 30 November 2006 and my cousin received...

I've landed and am now living back in the UK for a couple of years. I applied for a refund of half my RPRF and used my cousin's address in Toronto.

She's forwarded the cheque to me and...

However, ISTR that on the refund documentation (or on the website, I can't remember which) it did say...

Pure guess based on how much I have now and how much I think that will increase by the time I move, plus how much I think I could borrow: maybe a budget of $250-300k??
