If I remember rightly, they open and process at Mississauga on the same day. This is also when it will be entered onto E-Cas..... a quick look on CIC website says they are currently up to April 23rd...

Nope all I got was a little slip of paper with the local Immigration centre details on it... she said to call the number when I came back for good and they would sort things out... I would not call...

I am with you there neilg14.. I did not get a "welcome to Canada" either, no information pack on how and where to get SIN etc.
In fact, all I got was a lecture on how the customs officer did not...

Picked up passport and COPR stuff this morning from the sorting office.... not quite a 3-5 day turnaround but 14 days is still not too shabby.

Off to Detroit Feb 9 - 17, will use the Windsor...

Hi, yes, we are planning on settling Windsor/LaSalle/Tecumseh.
Of course that may change when we get there and see if we like it or not;)

We will be flying in to Detroit and using one of the bridges at Windsor to do the actual landing. We will not be staying as there is not enough time to clear the decks here before the visa times out...

Well according to post office track and trace, my passport was delivered today :thumbup:
Just on the off-chance, I checked E-Cas and the status has changed to Decision Made.. woohoo am feeling...

Well I bit the bullet, hubby agrees with me that paying out for new meds if we don't have to is silly. Every penny we spend here is a penny we do not have to move with lol.

We just wrote in the box where it asks what you have included as proof of intent to return: see separate sheet.
On that separate sheet we basically noted that we had no address or job in Canada as...

Well the anticipated/dreaded letter dropped onto the doormat today.
Even with no actual proof of intent to establish... just printouts of our research... hubby has been approved to sponsor...

I am in exactly the same boat... hubby is Canadian through his father but has lived in England since birth lol.
Not sure how effective it will be... they are due to open our application next week if...

We applied for hubby's card 2 years ago and it took just over 14 months to finally arrive. Ludicrous length of time surely, but you are not alone :o)
