From immigration folks, I have never had a problem entering Canada without a Canadian passport.

One time I had neither the passport nor the Canadian Citizenship Card (ok it was a bit stupid). I had to wait for 15 minutes for them to check the expired passport number I gave them, and show them some other ID. I dont think I also had a non-Canadian passport with me at the time.

You did international travel with nothing but an expired passport number?

I was coming from the US, so it was not so difficult.

Would probably be harder now, and the issue would be with the airline, not Immigration.

Sorry, I should be really explicit and say I was driving from the US. So no airline to give me problems.

But getting back to the original question: In flying into Canada, I have never had a problem entering with a non-Canadian passport and a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship.
