Re: Diarrhea since moving to canada

As above, are you drinking pop with the meals? Could be High Fructose Corn Syrup intolerance - I have this, took me a while to work out as they don't use it commonly in the UK...

Re: CIC Citizenship timelines

I think around 5-6 weeks... I was expecting to wait 12 months or more based on the posts here, so the test letter came as quite a shock!

Re: Living in Windsor, working in Detroit - PR status?

Lots and lots of people work in Detroit and live in Windsor - personally I don't know the best answers to your questions, but I do know it's not an unusual situation. There are lots of local...

Re: CIC Citizenship timelines

If I had a stamp for every time I've entered Canada (mostly day trips, so don't count against citizenship), I'd have needed a new passport by now - must be well in excess of 100 times now... I did...

Re: Windsor, Ontario?

As a local though, you just learn to avoid those areas, unless you have morbid curiosity like DBD, there's just no reason to go there. The interstates can take you anywhere you want, to the perfectly...

Re: Windsor, Ontario?

I dunno what it was like before the "downturn" as I wasn't here, but haven't noticed any reduction in services.

In fact, for example, I get my rubbish collected once a week - used to be...

Re: Windsor, Ontario?

Must have been a while since your last visit, as that detour has been gone for about 2 years I'd say from memory... Admittedly it wasn't great, but it only took a couple of mins to get to the...

Re: Windsor, Ontario?

Re: Moving to oakville - $55k enough for a family of 5?

Honestly, no chance, even in Windsor, arguably one of the cheapest areas of Canada, I wouldnt want to attempt it on that... In Oakville you will have a miserable existence - i'd rather live in a...

Re: Booze etc from US

Any more than a 6-pack and you'll be asked to cough up in my experience.... And whilst you're in there paying for that, you'll have to pay tax on everything else non grocery.... So it's not worth it...

Re: Ontario - Vehicle Permit address change

Yes, don't have a massive problem with that.... More concerned that the left half of the permit still has my old address, does that matter? Not sure why they don't send you two labels, one for each...

Ontario - Vehicle Permit address change

Recently moved house, so I sent off the slip for address change that's in the right hand corner of a vehicle permit.

What has come back is a label (which you have to lick!) and attach to the plate...

Re: Engine block heaters- on every car?

Got one, never used it as I read they can be prone to going faulty on my particular car and setting the car/garage/house on fire

Re: Cheapest place for moving boxes (in Canada)?

Would it be easier/cheaper just to get them off a removal company? I presume they give them to you when you agree to use their services?

We're a couple of months from moving yet, would it be too...
