I have been living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for 2 1/2 years now and will be travelling back to the UK in June for a family visit. What is the cheapest way to do this? Last year I found that using Canadian Affair and booking and paying for the tickets in England was the best way to go, is that still the case, help please?

I think Canadian Affair use Air Transat, so you could book direct. I've flown BA, Air Canada and Air Transat, and my parents fly over regularly and use Air Transat.
AT is usually the cheapest and it's not too bad. BA and AC are obviously more expensive but are pretty good.
There is another one called sunwing (have a look here) which look pretty cheap too. Never flown with them though.
One airline to avoid at all costs is Thomas Cook. I know some airlines codeshare with them and if you find when searching for flights that is the case, change your flight. Parents flew with them and won't do so again, and I've had other friends say the same.

You will find Air Transat owns Canadian Affair. CA use to hire Thomas Cook for some legs but they dropped them some months ago.
