We were told we would need to put down a 20% deposit being on a 457 visa. None of the banks would touch us otherwise, so we have a very nice rented house!

Hi - no we don't have to pay for our daughters education. You do need to pay for all of their school supplies though and you get a book list at the start of term. You can either shop for it all...

The pay works out OK - better than I thought it would. They take your NHS years of service into account and you have to send them a statement of service from your employer highlighting...

Hi,

I know it is difficult to decide where to stay - it depends what you like doing really. We like Ashgrove as it is still really close to the city ( about 15 mins drive depending on traffic )...

I came out on 457 visa - contacted the hospital myself for a job so didn't go through any agency. Took about 6 months in all from phone interview to getting on that plane. I work 10 hour shifts...

We live in Ashgrove and love it! Great bus links to the city and only 20 minute drive to South Bank Parklands. You have best of both worlds - city but also only 20 minutes from Mount Nebo, Brisbane...
