Re: UK to US Jet Lag (LHR to LAX)

When you arrive at your destination, stay awake as long as you can. Make yourself go to bed a the normal time where you are and stay in bed until the next morning. This should make jet lag better. No...

Re: Roku?

I have a Roku and an Apple TV. IMO Apple TV is better. I like Sky news that is free on ATV. The quality and stability of the operating system is much better than Roku.

Re: Almost done with USA

This happened to my mother too back in October. It was at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. The doctor took me into the hall and talked about the 'pathway to death'. All food and drink were...

Re: The health care bill is past by just 7 votes!

True! It's sad that we can't seem to get the truth. It's all tainted. I haven't read much on the details of the bill and how it will affect normal people. That information is hard to find.

Re: Washington reforms healthcare AND taxes

In all the news articles I've read and all the sound bites I've heard, this is the first time I've actually seen something concrete about what the bill is all about. Thanks for posting this...

Re: The health care bill is past by just 7 votes!

It makes me laugh when Americans (Fox News) use terms like 'socialism' because they have no idea what they're talking about. What also makes me laugh is when the very people who would be helped by...

Re: Are you happy in the US?

To go back to the original question, I think there are several differences with migrants to the US and migrants to Australia. Most people from Europe come to the US because of marriage or a job (a...

Re: House Sold, Now having second thoughts

So true, so very true. I read posts from people in the UK who have jobs they like, good friends and the mortgage almost paid off who f*** it all up by moving to another country. There are many out...

Re: Australia voted 2nd best in world for quality of life

LOL. Why is that? Why do some people keep posting on here after they're supposedly living in bliss in the UK? They keep telling us it's the best decision they ever made.

If I were lucky enough...

Re: Australia voted 2nd best in world for quality of life

Your happiness does not depend on lists of countries. There are many people in Norway who are not happy. Do you think they look at the 'best country to live in list' and tell themselves to get over...

Re: Is UK f**ked ?

The UK is doing ok. Stop putting down the UK to make yourself feel better about the choices you have made. Me thinks that there is a little voice in the back of your mind telling you that you made a...

Re: A visit back to the U.K has not helped

I like the UK because it 'just makes sense' here. I get it! I get all the jokes, the humour, the history, the person from yesteryear who was on TV, etc. I get it. It's so refreshing! I don't have to...

Re: Has anyone does a temporary return to the UK to give it a go?

I am thinking of taking a 'leave of absence' from work next year (2010/2011) and 'giving it a go'. I've been back and forth so many times about staying or going. My thought is, I have to try it for a...
