Just read your post... worked hard to find where we wanted.Moved from Canada to Uk 3 years ago now,..lived in Suffolk for 9mths but something for us wasnt right..we are down here is Devon now. living...

we actually like St, Neots. alittle bit further away but having 3 children wanted a bit more than what sudbury had to offer us, and really like the feel of this small market town better....

We moved to Torbay area in 2009 from Canada. we love it here, lots of gorgeous scenery and lots of things for the children to do. We live in Paignton..every place in my opinion has good/bad.

We Love Devon and have never lived here b4 either...originally from London but grew up in Canada... there is so much to see and do here, from the seaside to the countryside..train links...

Absolutley anything right now!..hubby has applied to farm help and even they turned him down.
He's a millwright by trade(Industrial machine repair)...worked 25 years at GM Canada.

we moved back last August with 3 children...and we are still having trouble finding work...hubby had a great job in Canada but got laid off with maybe a call back in the later future, so WE decided...

We have only been in the UK for 8mths now, and I agree with John, Devon, (beautiful as it is) does have some reasonably priced homes...With that being said, WE just purchased our first home down...

I was 3 when i left UK and now early 40's and just moved back..yes, its a bit of a culture shock..ppl are very friendly have been very helpful...the hardest part is work for OH.

I feel the same way, we moved here aug 09 from ontario canada (after 30+yrs) and its still hard for us..we sold our house and moved over...which wasnt' a last minute thing, it was well thought off...

We had to do it all in Canada as we didn't know how long it would take to process and we have children so we didn't want to do it separately ( the move) we did have assets...house, etc..
