It would be advisable to speak with a good immigration attorney.
He/she might advise filing an N-470 as a precaution, if nothing else it would show your desire to become a citizen at an early stage....

I recently brought some US power tools back to UK and have run them on a transformer without problem. As you point out the voltage isn't the potential problem it's the frequency (UK=50Hz, US=60Hz)....
