**** me I've just been quoted $20,000 to remodel my downstairs bathroom, its only as big as a flaming matchbox as well..
I've got another 2 to do as well..
Am I missing something but all the contractors I've had make a big deal about the tiling, whats so hard about tiling in this country? I only want to tile round the bath, not the whole flaming room!
Apparantly this quote was 'cheap' according to the contractor as most bathrooms cost $50,000 plus to do..
Anyone had any experience of this, what did you pay, how long did it take etc..

I've got another 2 to do as well..

are the tiles solid platinum?
I suggest DIY - its not hard
things like this you can break it down
How much is you time worth?
Is this more or less than the contractor wants?

he was providing the bath ($200 in Lowes), vanity unit which he was custom making but its only a single 24" wide one (about $500), granite top ($1500) and the travatine floor but its only about 2 square metres of floor tile ffs..hubby has talked about doing it ourselves but the last time he went near a bathroom to fix a leak we had 3 inches of water on the floor and a hefty call out charge for a plumber on Christmas Eve..
