Re: GST On Imported Goods

You should be fine so long as the parts aren't in their original packaging. I shipped my bike with new tires fitted and some other things, they didn't question the fact that the tires were spotless...

Re: Hi from Kaiapoi/Christchurch!

Thanks for the ideas, we went through Kaikoura last year but it's on our list to do again at some point. As for rubbish there are plenty of builders skips to choose from where we are ;).

Hi from Kaiapoi/Christchurch!

I've just realized it's been over 2 months since moving to NZ, the time has flown by as I've been busy with work.

After 4 weeks of hunting, I got a rental in Kaiapoi and Mrs JM and the boys joined...

Re: Accomodation in Christchurch

Rents in furnished accommodation down here are ridiculous as the insurance companies pay for alternative housing while having earthquake repairs done. I can definitely recommend Trademe...

Re: Cost of (and experiences) shipping UK to NZ.

Stage 1 of our move has been completed, it took 2 guys the best part of 2 days to box up all our goods and wrap the furniture. Certainly wouldn't have had time to do it ourselves, the only thing I...

Re: Nelson to Christchurch

That's a shame, Nelson would be my preferred place to be, unfortunately my chosen career means Christchurch is the only option for me atm.

Re: What visa would my young son need if we move to New Zealand?

My first thought is to suggest you ring INZ in London and speak to them directly explaining your situation, it might be that you can get a student visa for him.

Re: Car needed n sim card

Re: Ferry - Interislander or BlueBridge
