From what I've researched Quantas looks to be the cheapest at $86 per extra bag, everyone else is around $150-$225 AirCanada would cost is an extra $2000 in excess baggage.

A gun is unnessesery if for hiking and camping as long as your smart with storing food, I carry bear spray when hiking but have never used it they stay away from humans as much as possible, I see one...

There are a lot of H&S jobs in Alberta and BC for the mines and rigs but most of the people working in the role have experience in another field in the mines. ie worked as a driver for a few years...

I queried it and the border guard, said that UK citizens are allowed two years now. I pointed out what the IEC website says and he said the website was wrong and issued me two years.

Don't put that you only have a one year visa on your resume or cover letter and don't even mention it unless they ask, also make sure your resume is set out properly they do it differently over here....
