Re: powersmurf's questions - Options for Immigrating to USA via Marriage?

I'm concerned that you have not been following the DCF in London wiki entry here. There is a form for credit card payment; it's the most commonly used option. Be sure to double check you are using...

Re: CR-1, IR-1, Immigrant Visa: What Next?

Seems like there are lots of questions being asked that could use this document.

Re: B2 to LPR ~ does dual intent apply

I'm really surprised that you have not engaged an immigration attorney to do this for you. In the past you've been very vehement about the need for proper legal representation in immigration matters,...

James, that does sound unusual.

Good luck at CPB, let us know what happens.

Re: Federal Witholding Tax

Harry, why don't you try the forums at Intuit (Turbo Tax)? I'd imagine that a tax-focused forum would net you much better information on this topic than an expat group.

It looks like you will send in DS-230 I *first*. ...

Re: DS-156 - Expiry?

You can google to see what the OMB expirations are about.

The most current forms available are on the DOS page I linked; that is where I would download them if I were applying for a visa.

In...

Re: DS-156 - Expiry?

The date on the top right corner is not the form expiration date. It's the OMB expiration, which is something else altogether.

The latest DOS visa forms are available here:...

Re: K1, I-94 Question

Are you sure you even need to do that? Think first of the reasons you were admitted for a 'short' date. Did you have your medical last August? You say your ACPO is close to expiring.. how old is it?...

Re: Source Documents - Original or Copies?

Requiring originals to the NVC for immigrant visa cases has been the norm for several years now (not a recent trend).

The originals are returned to the applicant at the interview.

If your...

Re: DCF - I-130 Filing in London. Join In Here!

What a peculiar reply.

You don't need to fill in "the form". You'll need to do a Customs declaration (I guess that is a form) but not an I-94 card.

What exactly more did you require in...

Re: DCF - I-130 Filing in London. Join In Here!

You won't be an LPR (Legal Permanent Resident) until after you have been admitted on arrival with your Immigrant Visa (what you have in your passport).

You'll find the answer to...

More useful: They don't issue the interim EADs at the District Office anymore (have not for several years), despite what the regulation says. One should not count on an interim EAD.

Here's what...

Re: Green card renewal...

Is your green card a "two year one" because you got it through marriage to a US citizen?

If so, "renewal" is not what you need to do. Please let us know.

Re: Siemens USA job vacancies

Without a link to the item, it's hard to know exactly what you want to discuss WRT 'why'.

I guess it's like 'Why did you post this in the immigration forum?'. Just hard to know.

Re: Will B2 denial affect a submitted I-130?

I think you're mixing up different things. It's nothing to do with the ineligibility & waiver. My reply was particular to the IV application. The person can simply wait outside the US until their...

I think you've only just become aware of this topic, so you'll probably learn lots that you don't know now.

I'm also a USC and live in the west. There are plenty of lawyers who can assist you. I...
