Default B2 visa denined, can travel on pre-approved esta?

travelled to the US already for 6weeks on with VWP esta, and some months later (just now) applied for a normal B2 tourist visa that was denied. as i understand esta is valid for 2 years....can i then travel on this without updating anything since i applied for this esta before i was denied a normal visa? anyone ever try that?

You need to update your ESTA with the information about the visa denial.

No, you need to update ESTA now, because your situation has changed. When you applied before, you had no visa denial. Now you have a visa denial which you need to declare.

Only certain fields are available to update (below), you will need to re-apply the same as you would need to do if you got a new passport:

E-mail address
Telephone number
Carrier Information
City where you are boarding
Address while in the United States

ok, but if its valid for 2 years, and at the time of application all answers were true, is it really necessary to reapply? it seems like this isnt required....is there any official documentation that obviously states you need to do this if you been refused a different visa then?

sure, 6th paragraph down on the CBP website at the link below: "This is also required if one of your answers to any of the VWP eligibility questions changes. The associated fee of $14 will be charged for each new application."

"I know what you're thinking. 'Did he fire six shots or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? Three choices:

1. Let more time go by and try the ESTA again; or

2. Let more time go by and try for a B-2 visa again.

3. Don't travel.

Reviewing your posts... have you considered hiring a lawyer or two? You seem to need some help beyond what the forum users are telling you (over and over and over). I'm sure you'll want the family lawyer's advice for the ways you can best protect the interests of your USC child, and to get an immigration specialist's help with the immigration questions.
