It all sounded too much for me as well when I went in July and I also had quarantine rules to deal with!

Keep asking questions and start getting organized and you'll be fine, I got good advice...

I flew before vaccination cards were accepted and the airline staff at Chicago checked all my documentation twice, once at check-in and then again at the gate

yeh, I used ID Now with no problems getting to the UK
Coming back I took a rapid antigen test from ExpressTest at T2 Heathrow, results were back in an hour. I took mine a couple of days before...

I dont think the airline check-in staff would be aware of your previous positive test and would only be looking for a negative test?

I read a case on reddit where someone tested positive on Day 5 - then tested negative on Day 8
If they had still tested positive they were going to use a Dr from medicspot to get documentation of...

I used the Walgreens not CVS but there's a lot of threads on uktravel reddit where people have used it (and had the same questions about specificity)

Rapid ID Now test, was good enough to get me on the flight to the UK

Yes, I had a booked Day 2 and 8 test so put that number on my passenger locator form

Looks like their Gatwick place is still open, a drive through at the car park

Pre-departure test to the UK can be done at Walgreens/CVS and do a lateral flow such as ID Now rather than PCR as you get the results in an hour - you get emailed the results, print them out and take...

Problem with the Day 8 test could be getting the results back in time - so I would go for a rapid antigen test, plenty of places doing it, I'm going to be using ExpressTest at Heathrow, results...

You can do the Day 2 test on Day 2 - or ealier - that's on the gov website and I did it with no issues

Day 2 and 8 tests are with the same provider, Day 5 can be with another one, all must be booked before you leave as you have to put them on your Passenger Locator Form

will keep you updated - been WFH for the last 15 months so quarantine when I return would be OK, it's the not being able to return that has my stress levels spiking
