Re: Let's talk Dentistry- which country does it better?

They've always seemed about the same to me - I've been in NY for 8 years now and see as many mangled American mouths as I saw in the UK

It's a tired old joke about the state of British teeth so I...

Re: Strange RFE?

Sadly they do - the results of my London medical were lost and I had to get another done in the US at my expense. Annoying but not much I could do but get it done again.

Glad to hear you've made...

Re: Shipping pets Europe to Texas

A majority of people disagreeing with someone isn't automatically 'ganging up'.

She may well be within the rules, but when someone suggests not feeding a baby and imagines they're making a...

Re: What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

tuxedocat, robin1234 - fascinating replies, thanks. And they both sum up my main frustration more succinctly than my previous post did; American history is far more fascinating when the grey areas...

Re: What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

Leader of the Free World never bothered me too much - I'd agree with you gradboy that it makes a general sort of sense, or did until the 1990s as you said.

Re: What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

The bit in bold is the key here and reminds me of my main grumble with the US (as in you reminded me, not that I'm directing this moan at you) - the way so much gets brushed under the carpet so the...

Re: UK Nova closing down!!!!!!

Re: What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

I sometimes wonder how different the US would be as a place - and collective personality - if something more truthful were taught about the Revolution.

For example, if most knew and accepted that...

Re: What's your LEAST favorite thing about the US?

Well no, if we lived lives based on statistics we'd choose to live in statistically safer places, or which there are quite a few. It's not a case of 'The US or a Bunker' I'm afraid.

And...

Re: Getting the Vaccination Records out of the NHS

Yes - talking to his childhood surgery could be a good idea.

In a similar situation I spoke to my childhood surgery and they told me to come in that same afternoon. In fact, as some of my...

Re: Am i mad?!

Sadly I agree with you - the time for writing to MPs has passed, at least for now

Writing to newspapers is a good idea, there might be some chances to put a human face on people whose lives are...

Ha, I thought the exact same thing!

It's remarkable how Romney's mind works (or doesn't). Granted he was only saying what most people were thinking... but on the same day you arrive on a...

Re: British citizen living abroad? Non-EEA spouse? This may affect you!
