Re: PAYG phones

I am sorry I didn't make myself clear.
I am likely to be sharing my time between the UK and Spain. I would like a Spanish SIM to use in Spain for calling and receiving calls from my Spanish...

Re: PAYG phones

Thanks for that, I didn't get my credit back last time so that must have changed. I was thinking of the cost of making calls rather than getting them, I wouldn't ask anyone to call a Spanish mobile...

Re: Ferry crossing back to the UK or drive?

If you are willing to spend another couple of hours on the road then you can avoid the toll roads.
Since the Santander crossing takes 24hrs it is probably also quicker to drive to Calais.
I know...

Re: Ferry crossing back to the UK or drive?

We have made the trip from south of Spain to north of France quite a few times by car.
It would be much better to drive to Calais for the kids sake that to have them on a ferry for god knows how...

Re: Replacement Doors

I almost choked on my beer when a friend told me he just paid £920 for a Upvc door. I would rather cut my own tree down and make it myself than pay that sort of money.

Re: What can we grow over winter?

You can grow lettuce pretty much all year round, and you can pick them as baby leaves so that if the weather gets really bad you only lose a few weeks worth rather than the whole crop.
Same thing...

Re: Berlingo estate £88 a week

You would save the air fare as well though!

We had no car hire costs, no car parking fees at the airport, got to take as much...

Re: Why do Brits buy instead of rent?

I know it is slightly off subject, but you raised an interesting point.
How much tax etc should I be paying on a purchase price of 41000 euros?

Re: Why do Brits buy instead of rent?

I sort of get that it is a bit different in Spain, but the principle remains the same.
At some stage I will have no mortgage and therefore free accomodation.
That gives me more money for me.
I...
