My youngest grandson started a private school two years ago because my daughter had the sense, or good luck, to marry a banker. Or maybe she just fell in love with him.

Anyway, it's a brilliant, though expensive school, and when I attended their sports day I was pleased to see that the children were all different colours. It seems a harsh way to put it, but religion is definitely on the back burner.

"Required to" and "it isn't enforced". Which? There is a big difference!

Sorry I dont understand the question.
It is both, the law requires it, just like it is illegal to ride a bicycle on the pavement but it is not enforced to make sure it happens, just like the police do not stop cyclists for road offences.

OK, sorry. "Not enforced" and "required to" don't add up to me - but then that's just me.
