Re: Anyone Regret Moving To USA

Mostly very true. My father was born into an INCREDIBLY poor family (we are talking dirt floors here) and through scholarships to uni and hard work, he now has a 6 figure salary and a great house...

Re: My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

There was an article in the paper yesterday about how one of the main guys filmed (the man that lived in an actual house surrounded by trailers and was the godfather to about 70 children) says that...

Re: American Idol 2011.

I agree...Steven Tyler is cool, but he's not a Cowell replacement-way too nice! I guess the affable Randy is now the 'mean' one.

Re: Scots in VA/DC/MD

OMG, that's great! Thanks so much...my husband is a total Rangers fan, so I have a feeling I will be dragged to this diner regularly once he is in the USA. Too bad it's crap...maybe I'll keep this...

Re: Suicide !!

Again, I never said NOT to post here, I just made the suggestion of also going to a support group. And, unless you know the poster, I'm not sure how you know that this is the only attempt he will...

Re: Suicide !!

I certainly was not saying those on the forum are useless, merely that many of us are not as qualified to help him deal with a suicide as, say, a therapist would be. I wasn't telling him not to post...

Re: My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

I had no knowledge about Gypsy culture until I watched this series, and I found it very disturbing. Girls are not told that they can tell a man 'no'..if she does, he is well within his rights to...

Re: Suicide !!

I'm very sorry for your loss, but I'm not sure how much help an online forum could really give you with such a devastating situation. Have you checked out support groups locally? I know that there...

Re: I'm an American wanting to move to the U.K./Europe and I need advice.

I'm an American who came over to the UK to do grad school. It was expensive and you cannot work for more than 20 hours a week, but I loved it. That being said, UK students are no more intelligent or...

Scots in VA/DC/MD

Hi guys! I have used BE mostly for visa help, but I was wondering if any Scots/Brits living in the DC metro area might be of help for a different kind of question...
If everything goes according to...

Re: New puppy from UK

Seems pretty wasteful and cruel to a young animal to have it shipped all the way to Canada, in my opinion. Anything wrong with the breeders in Canada...or even better, the animal shelter?

Re: Little help?

I thought that a USC had to be resident in the UK for 6 months to do DCF..at least, on the London US embassy website, it states that :
“Principal residence will have been considered established...

Re: Little help?

No problem, I get a lot of help here as well! Well, your wife will have to file in the USA as she doesn't qualify for DCF, but I don't see any reason why she could not continue to live with you in...

Re: Little help?

In that case, you probably will not qualify for DCF at the moment. Another option is for your wife to file for you in the USA, which has the same end result as DCF filing but just takes 8-10 months...

Re: Little help?

Re: Filing taxes in London no more?

BTW, just to let people know, the London IRS WILL still stamp your return. I sent mine off and got it back today, about a week later. Weirdly, they stamped my cover letter as well as my 1040 (they...

Re: Any I-130 DCF September/ October filers ?

Oh no, that's really common? Yikes, me and my husband had only been married for 2 months before filing, does that mean that there is a very good chance that we'll be asked for this as well, do you...

Re: DCF London - 2010 Tax return now required?

Quick question...would a photocopy of my joint sponsor's 2010 tax return suffice? I have obtained IRS transcripts for the last three years, but I don't think the IRS can give out a transcript until a...

Re: I-130-email notification (DCF)

That's how we paid as well, and you can check to see if the check has been cashed, just call the bank that issued it.

Re: Would USC wife filing for uk spouse visa impact cr1?

Was your dad a joint sponsor? I'm really nervous now, I am applying for my husband but I am unemployed. My dad will be the joint sponsor (he makes well over the minimum amount needed for this), but...
