Hello! I am a USC, and my husband (a UKC) is currently in the process of getting a US visa. If everything goes to plan, he will have is visa and be living with me in the US by the end of June 2011.
My question is, how hard would it be to move back to the UK? We'd like to stay in the US for 5-8 years, and then maybe move back to the UK for a bit so that out future, hypothetical children can become close to both sides of the family, experience both nations, etc.
For people that have done this, how hard is it fro a non-Brit to get a spousal visa to move to the UK? We would plan on registering any kids we'd have in the US with the UK embassy so they wouldl have citizenship in the UK.
I know I am looking far to far into the future here, but I was just wondering how others dealt with this?

The other thing to bear in mind is the cost of visas - which has gone up considerably for the UK in the last 6 years (haven't a clue what they are in comparison to US visas). These may continue to increase sharply, they may not.
Looking at previous posts of yours, an alternative route for you could have been to apply for FLR(M) in the UK after you got married - then 2 years after that SET(M) to get permanent residency. Because you would have been living in the UK for at least 3 years at the time of permanent residency (ILR), and you are married to a UK citizen you would have been eligible to apply for citizenship on the same day as being granted ILR (under current rules).
