Thanks to everyone for all the info. Spent last night looking at the NS website and Truro. It's been reassuring seeing that everyone else has been where we we now & that we will get there.

OMG 6 nations! I feel ancient. Got my Canada cap at the ready - I've got mid length blonde hair, glasses & a permenantly frazzled expression from 2 under 4 yr old boys.

Arty - shame you can't make it next weekend. Seems NS is a popular place to head from Glasgow. We too are in the early stages (still getting ideas etc) so am sure there will be plenty more...

Thinking of places, Princes Square is nice but busy, we could meet in the basement of waterstones in Sauchiehall Street. big comfy sofas and large coffees!

Am looking forward to it and preparing...

If its not the 5th I cant make it till the end of Feb (am a nurse and work most weekends)

We are thinking about heading to the Halifax area. DH is finishing his Nursing Degree so we are tied here for another 2 yrs. Will need to pick your brains about the area/schools etc

We are in the Glasgow are on the 1st rung of the immigration ladder but its a long complicated process involving waiting for my husband to finish hus uni course and elderly relatives.

thanks for that! It looks stunning there. I can cope with a bit of sea mist in the mornings that burns off early but the thought of a thick blanket all day every day fills me with horror.

Is it really bad? been doing some research and have seen some figures suggesting Halifax gets up to 300 days of fog a year!

does it last all day every day?
