Where did you get those figures from ?? The Grand Banks on the East Coast of Newfoundland is regarded as the foggiest place on Earth but they certainly dont have 300
I can pretty much guarantee you that Halifax doesnt have fog all day every day from what I have seen and I spend a lot of time there

Ummm...no!
There is occasional fog and when it comes it is here for the early morning then disappears. It's really not that bad! People go about as usual.

My Brother in Law is on the Henry Goodrich at the mo. He reports 50ft waves and 170km/h winds. Aside from the odd mix of units, that doesn't sound much fun. I imagine that fog is the least of their worries at present.

To the OP. Newfoundland is way foggier than NS. And we don't get anywhere near 300 days of fog. I

thanks for that! It looks stunning there. I can cope with a bit of sea mist in the mornings that burns off early but the thought of a thick blanket all day every day fills me with horror.

Nova Scotia can be foggy, but it doesn't last for an entire day (usually early mornings or late nights). And its usually in patches around lakes and the ocean.

I echo the above - the fog is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.
In fact, in the six months I have been in Halifax I can't remember a truly bad case, aside from the morning and late at night.
In any case, I'd rather fog than smog!

Cape Sable Island gets lots of fog. Shelburne, where I am, gets very little.
