Re: Fog in Nova Scotia
Yes, I am for real. I have lived in Nova Scotia for my whole life minus the last two years I spent in Scotland.
I have NEVER had an issue with the fog, I have lived in the valley, Fall River, Bedford and Halifax.
I am not denying that there are foggy days. But it will not ruin your day. You get over it. Certain times of year are worse than others. It's usually in costal areas or near lakes. Maybe in your little part of NS you will have fog for 9 days in a row in the spring. That is not the 300 which the initial poster was worried about.
I'm sorry if I got upset but it's hard hearing people bash your home and discredit your opinion of your home.

In our "little part of NS" (in the HRM) we get a lot of fog & it stays for days if not weeks.
Where we live is very foggy for large chunks of the year & your angry defence of an imagined attack is unlikely to change that.
If the OP has an issue with fog they'd be nuts to move to my house.
Other areas of NS probably get very little fog..

Fog or no Fog, Nova Scotia is a great place to live. I wouldn't let the idea of Fog bother you, regardless of who you might be. It can be quit fun. Especially when the Pirates come seeking there lost treasure. MUAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Re: Fog in Nova Scotia
I live in Eastern Newfoundland. The Capital of Fog. Initially I thought the wind would blow the fog away but then discovered that it can be blowing old boots and still foggy at the same time. Does it negatively impact my quality of life? Well after 6 weeks of rain drizzle and fog in May/June when spring has sprung elsewhere in Canada, I generally want to shoot myself, but aside from that life goes on. I imagine it's the same in NS.

just taken this photo from our bedroom window. It's rolling in even thicker now - we've also got freezing rain and ice, so not a nice day

I always found the storm force winds and fog at the same time very strange - Get it like that quite often on the rigs in the Grand Banks

Thankyou for all your replies - am now no longer concerned about fog but rather the people who are so passionate about it
