Re: 90 days in 180 ? How to Calculate ? When does it start again ??

Hmm....I too am a bit confused now. Sorry! This year so far, I visited Portugal from 15th to 23rd September. The EU Period of Stay calculator rightly says that I have used up 9 days in the EU...

Apologies - it was never my intention to spread rumours or misinform - I have been a forum member for best part of a decade and I have lived and worked in Portugal for 10 years (2007-2017). I still...

Re: AZ vaccine batch numbers AZ4120Z001/2/3 OK for Entry to Pt?

Yes it looks like Portugal is not going to shift its stance on the "Indian" batch of the AZ vaccine. Spain and Greece have allowed it. Bizarrely, Madeira also accepts it - so you could in principal...

Re: Ex-Pat Life in Lisbon?

There are two pubs in Cais do Sodre where Brits & Irish gather and they show premiere league football + they have sky sport 1 and 2. Also, look up Lisbon Players - a British amateur dramatics club....

Re: Apartment sold in just 3 weeks!

We made a small profit on our sale. The range between the asking price and the lowest price we would accept without incurring any loss was narrow - just 5K. And the offer was right in the middle of...

Re: Apartment sold in just 3 weeks!

Well said! Portugal has suffered from emigration over the decades (with many unoccupied homes and partly dilapidated properties even in Lisbon). Give the great climate and the fantastic food culture,...

Re: Apartment sold in just 3 weeks!

I was thinking it might take anything from 6 months to a year to sell - in which case we would have had to give power of attorney to my (Portuguese) father-in-law to sell in our absence. But I was...

Apartment sold in just 3 weeks!

Exactly three weeks to day when we first contacted the local estate agent about the possibility of selling our apartment, we received an offer close to the asking price. We accepted! A handful of...

Re: Another curious "Citizenship" case

Understood. Seems even the broadsheets (or "quality" papers as they used to be called in my time) are not immune to sensationalising stories.

Another curious "Citizenship" case

Has this always been happening, but simply never reported in national newspapers - or have laws tightened up significantly in the past 6 months ?

In a nutshell: Man born in UK in 1974 (to German...

Re: Current job climate

I've worked here for 9 years now. As I have mentioned before in the forum - while jobs aren't impossible to find - it is a very hard graft getting one. Without the language, even more so. Graduates...

Re: Fresh (or Frozen) Meat Cash & Carry?

Galinha is likely to be old egg laying hen that's come to the end of its...."useful" life.

Frango on the other hand is a young rooster or broiler.

Re: re-exchanging PT drivers licence back to UK

Re: re-exchanging PT drivers licence back to UK

Hadn't thought of that. Thanks. Even if the turn-around time at the DVLA is a couple of weeks, no worries as I can get by with a hire car during that time (if necessary).
