It is my understanding that you are not permitted to use Sky outside the UK legally that is although I do know people take their boxes and cards out with them but you cannot give Sky a Spanish...

Sorry I can't help with this one. I too bought a movistar pay as you go phone but was made aware of the no. Surely someone in the shop could look at the phone for you it must be there somewhere.

I had already said where I was driving in Spain so my comment was obviously aimed at that not the whole country. The UK is far too crowded on the roads IMO and where I drive in Spain is refreshingly...

Well we are flying out to Spain tomorrow to complete on our house near Albuñol in the Costa Tropical region in the south. We aim to have it as a holiday home initially and will move out permanently...

I doubt it to be honest because a spanish account is a euro account and you can only transfer from a sterling account via the bank. I opened my account with La Caixa in London but it is still a euro...

Yes I agree I will keep my UK bank account after we have moved out there but will use my spanish account for utility, rate payments etc. What I am hoping is that internet banking on UK accounts will...

Also if you ever decide to buy a property in Spain you will have to have a Spanish account. Your solicitor will ask for the IBAN no.

If France and Germany bail them out they won't have a deficit will they. I have spoken to Moneycorp today and they don't anticipate any major movement at the moment

Well the bulk of the money is now transferred. I still have one more transfer to do for solicitors bill and costs but any commission won't amount to much.

At the moment they say on the news that it is only France and Germany who are likely to help Greece. The pound is weak anyway. Anyone who is expecting a ROE of 1.50 is living in cloud cuckoo land....

Well I have gone with La Caixa mainly because there is a branch in my nearest town of Albuñol and I could open the account in London with no language problems. I have got internet banking in English...
