Managed to get my family booked today.... im going a bit sooner.

The website is frustratingly slow though so be prepared for lots of refreshing and re-entering!

I am in the same boat, and believe the visa is open for you to travel at anytime it is valid.

We got ours in early August, I am going in the next couple of months and my family around Feb.

They only received mine last week. I cant keep track of things on their site though as they keep changing things and changing the wording.

After reading this you put the fear of god in me.

Ive recently sent my AHPRA reg off.....certified and wittnessed by a solicitor!

I didnt read it properly and used the same one for my skills...

You say you have a bulldog, you should check out the rules on flying them out. I may be wrong but I think there are restrictions on them.

Being that your wife is a nurse you may find the empoyer sponsored route easier. It depends how soon you want to be there.

I put the date I wanted the cover to start as the same date my 457 visa was due to start.

In my 457 application the propossed start date was 10/10/10 so thats what I went with.

I only paid for...

I did this last week.

You only need the very basic cover to satisfy the visa.

I used HBA, I put my employers address down and selected monthly invoicing so I could just buy the first months...

Just got in from work, checked my email and.............

457 visa granted!!

To say im shocked isnt the word :rofl:

Seems they had all the info they needed!!
