Default Passport and 457

As a UK National, once I have my 457 Approval (which I have just got), do I need to get it registered in my passport? Or is the system that clever that it already knows I have a Visa when I arrive in Oz?

The system knows, but it is still a very good idea to get a visa label in your passport. Comes in handy for all kinds of other reasons not associated with immigration.

You can keep a copy of the letter/email of your visa grant too so its not a race to get it stamped in your passport.

Ive been here 3 days, and managed to get TFN, bank account, police check (for work) with nothing more than a UK passport and drivers licence.

When you register for Medicare, they will want to see the visa sticker. This is the main reason I would say to get it done.
