Re: What is your experience so far of Living in Riyadh?

Riyadh is a transformed place from even a couple of years ago. Lots of things to see and do, and in many ways an improvement from Qatar. Accommodation is expensive, and traffic can be horrific so...

Re: Favourite supermarkets in Abu Dhabi?

Its been a few years, but there'a Lulu express in Mazyad Mall which is close by. Good value, and plenty of British products. Otherwise Spinneys is a good choice.

Re: questions for life in Qatar

Following the completion of so much construction work for the World Cup, Qatar is now a much more settled place to live. There are loads of bars and restaurants to try, and new beach parks etc to...

Re: Hi everyone - Moving to Doha

Hi Kathy, Welcome to Doha. I'd definitely recommend joining some facebook groups: British Expats in Qatar; When, Where & How in Doha. There are some craft groups too and places like...

Re: Vaccine rollout in Qatar

Most people i know have been processed in 30-60 minutes. Shouldn't be an issue. I'd certainly recommend one of the drive throughs though as your risk of picking up Covid-19 in the queue is much...

Re: Train driver jobs in middle east

The Doha Metro is fully automated. Lusail Tram and Education City Tram use drivers, but i'd be surprised if you'll get close to your TfL salary. No heavy rail in Qatar, but it worth investigating in...

Re: Post lockdown

Good post. I don't think there will be a sudden lifting of the lockdown, rather a gradual lifting over a period of years with some restrictions lasting for the long-haul. Some more legacy items:

Re: Investment Platforms for expats

Try interactive brokers. They don’t hold your hand through the account opening or trading on the platform, but covers your requirements as an expat. Saxo bank also worth considering.

Thumbs up Re: How many People are FIFA expecting at the Doha Works Cup

That's better! I have no problem with justifiable critisims such as complaining about moving to December, and having the pay more for beer.
