Smile Qatar Blockade softening?

Rumours all over social media that the blockade of Qatar by neighbouring countries may be drawing to a close. KSA/UAE/Bahrain have also requested participation in the upcoming Arabian Gulf Cup in Qatar. Hopefully this would be the case, would make a big difference to flight options out here, and Dubai will suddenly be a reasonable option for a weekend break again.

I certainly hope so. Flight prices leaving Qatar are just silly now. Also, work trips to UAE now take a full day of traveling. I hope Qatar losing the match the other day might soften the "unjust blockaders" opinions.

Fingers crossed. It's positive that Saudi/UAE/Bahrain sent teams to the Gulf Cup.

I've heard some rumblings and seen some media that suggests the blockade may come to an end tomorrow on Friday 13th. Could be wishful thinking though.

I doubt that given that the Emir failed to show up for the summit.

Was that the same summit that the first minister attended and was greeted off the Qatar airways aircraft by the king of Saudi?

Is it over?

I just can't see how they all save face. It'll have to be pretending that it never happened, surely?
