One more thing to add to Aviators advice, if your camera is capable of manual focus, then normally it is best to set your focus to 'infinity'.

Sorry but recommending a camera based on zoom and MP is nonsense, there are many many more aspects that should be considered first, its more to do with the glass and the cameras ability to handle...

We had a 'stray' cat live with us when I was in the Falklands, it was called 'Schlarf' as it slept most of the time.
