Potential new pup
Here is the pup we chose yesterday from a German Shepherd breeder down near Saint John.
Wonderful parents, great clean facilities and wonderful temperament. I think we are 99% there in our decision.
Short list of names: Max, Mack, Kaiser, Kruger, Chester, Buddy. Not sure which one to go for.

Just go for it.
Ours is now almost 8 weeks old and is keeping us very busy (a lot like having a new baby in the house). He can be really funny, the girls think he's "really cute" and already seems quite smart.
The funny thing is, I built him a really big wooden crate to stay in when he's asleep (or in the mood to bite at everything in sight). He has a couple of chew toys in there and whenever he's not in there our other collie opens the gate, sneaks in, closes the gate then (she's 2 and a half) regresses completely back into being a crazy puppy while playing with his toys and making sounds like a chimp. Very funny and we don't regret deciding to get him one bit.
If you're interested I can PM you the details of the breeder - he might have a couple of unsold puppies left in the litter if you're interested in checking them out before making a final decision.

Re: Potential new pup
It will be our second GS after a 13 year break from the breed.
I think the decision has been made regards purchase. Still mulling the name. We still miss, and if I'm honest still look for, our springer, but we are trying to move on.

Not buddy. Every other dog seems to be called buddy. And, the dog is cute.

Buddy has already been eliminated as a choice. Daughter's suggestion, shot down by both of us.
I am leaning towards Kruger or Max ( both my suggestions ) with Kaiser and Mack following behind ( again mine ). Wife likes Chester ( her suggestion ) and also Max.

Good, everyone in Canada seems to be named buddy. How about Klinsmann for a name?

Re: Potential new pup
I heard a GS being called the other day, his name was London. Quite an apt name to give a puppy in 2012 I thought.
