Just in case anyone missed this news flash
Hit a crane and crashed into the street below killing 2. Terrible! And during rush hour, many injured.

I don't mean to sound pedantic but I wouldn't say "many are injured", it's about 13 people with cuts, bruises and shock. Still a terrible day in London.

The pilot had 12000+ hours experience, had been an air ambulance pilot, flew helicopters in 'saving private Ryan' and 'die another day' and apparently a great guy. Not that this matters, just to show that shit happens!

"Rumour Control" has it that the crane was unlit and an accident waiting to happen

Heard that the crane operator was late for work (first time in years by all accounts) otherwise he would have been sat in the cab. Think he needs to buy a lottery ticket with that sort of luck!

I was working about 100 meters from the incident, the crane apparently was lit, but there was a lot of low mist. It was pretty incredible that there were only 2 killed, it was rush hour, it also only just missed a train.....
