Many thanks mate. Still going through the book and its a good remembering tool. Good to know its an open book exam aswell. Keep your eyes peeled i might be asking some more questions soon mate....

Well after over 3 years of planning and hard work we will finally be arriving in Adelaide on the 09th Jan 2012.

I have been doing the wiring regs course via distance learning and just got myself...

Hi All,

Thats good news then and an oversight from DIAC in not recognising the OSTR. When does it change though as on the skills list it now has TRA down and vets has beed removed?

Hi Mate, not in Oz yet just waiting for the house to finalise and then im off.

The lisence side of things are a mess but here is how it goes.

The vets is for the visa (or was and now its gone...

Hi, the OSTR is not a TRA cert. They are two different certs mate.

Hi,

From the DIAC website the SOL list from July for electricians is -

Electrician (General) 341111 Trades Recognition Australia.

TRA it seems has gone back to being the assesor for...

You get the grant letter of the website. When you rejister to check your application online you get the grant letter there.

I not going to risk it. They have assesed me and im in the UK and when i get there and have an address they will then post the cert. I have the grant letter and will have to do the week at PEER so...

Hi, my application was received in Aus on the 15/07/2011 so 9 weeks to process which is quicker than some poor soles have been waiting.

Just glad it is all over and cant wait to now get to Aus and...

Just checked my emails and got a granted for my ARTC electrical mechanic application on Friday :rofl:

Hi Darren, TRA is a nightmare.
Ive submitted mine so just waiting. I got it in before they changed the rules so i will see. Its been in since the 15/07/2011 ant is showing as received on that day on...

Hi if you did the TRA then when passed you get the ARTC.

They dont issue the certs to overseas applicants though just a letter. Once you arrive in Aus and have an address you can then get them to...

No still nothing but they only got mine on the 17th July so im in for a long wait. At least i got it in on the old form though before the 21st July changes.

Hi Derren, Not sure that is correct mate. It says you have to be an eligable to live or work which i have taken to mean you have a valid visa. When you fill in the ARTC application form aswell on...

Not sure thats true.
Spoke to PEER last week and they are still taking and will do with the OSTR or the ARTC.

Think the ETL is a Western Aus thing.

Anyone else confirm ?

Hi Stevo, hoped you would pop up.

Visa was a long time coming mate with all of the rule changes and when i did the vets in 2009 was told once i got the visa the fastest way to get my SA A class...
