Re: photos

It's interesting. They must all set their own prices. We paid £24 for 8 at the Snappy Snaps on Fleet Street, London. Nobody mentioned magic paper.

Re: New immigration rules - 17th April....???????????

I know the citizenship laws changed as of 17 April, but I don't know anything about changes to immigration rules.

Have you checked on the CIC website? That is normally pretty good. I would...

Re: Canadian Bank Account in the UK

We have a Canadian Dollar bank account with Citibank, which is a UK bank account, but the money is in dollars and we can transfer it to a...

Re: Just about to submit PR... payment..!!!

I can't add much to what everyone else has said, except to sympathise that it is really complicated.

Some people with lots of experience repeat that you have to read all the instructions...

Re: English Proficiency Letter from Employer?

Are you asking about something to prove your ability in English, or your work experience? I've never heard of an employer providing a "module letter" regarding proficiency in English.

If English...

Re: That Legal form re: Police record ?

Even if it was 20 years ago, I doubt anyone who had been convicted of an offense and sentenced to Community Service, would forget when and what it was. I would have thought this kind of thing would...

Re: Any PR approval for occupation NOC 0213

Sounds like Vienna is rattling through applications much more quickly than London. :frown:

Re: No job offer - PR possible ???

If your previous occupation is on the list, and you spent at least one year of the last 10 in it, then you may be able to apply for PR.

Also, don't forget that so long as you have at least one...

Re: Online Bank Statement

We have an online savings account with a bank (attached to our mortgage) and they would have charged us £25 for a paper statement, but were willing to send us a letter confirming our balance for no...

Re: CIO application - confused about photographs

It is confusing, but the answer is that you don't need to send any photos to Sydney with the initial application. You do need to send four photos to London when you submit the full document pack.

Re: Forms once again?

I'd re-sign and re-date below the originals, rather than use Tipp-Ex. I think Tipp-Ex and official documents should be kept well apart. ;)

Re: Certified vs Notarised - whats the difference and who can do them?

I'm surprised at that, but then I guess it shows that it really does pay to shop around.

I got a quote from a Notary Public in Leatherhead and he said he would charge me £300 to notarise around...

Re: Help! How can I prove this?

When your mum got her passport, did she not need to show any proof that she was the same person as "Estrella" on her birth certificate? Presumably the same proof would help here?

Re: Forms once again?

How did you save them? We did them on the computer, but couldn't save the docs with our details. We did print extra copies, but will probably have to type them out again for changes to contact...

Re: Certified vs Notarised - whats the difference and who can do them?

My solicitor offered to certify all my docs at £2 a pop including VAT, and ended up charging quite a lot less. As a Commissioner of Oaths, he is on CIC's list, and a damn sight cheaper than a Notary...

Re: IMM 7023 E - Appendix A

You can order "certified copies" of birth and marriage certificates from about £6-£10 each from the Government's records department. I would order these and send them in. They are from the UK...

If so, then whether or not your husband qualifies is purely based on whether he is responsible for most...

Re: can i apply for pr status now

I think you can. There is some Guidance for Visa Officers which says that when they assess whether or not someone meets the work experience requirement for a NOC code, they have to look at the main...

Re: Long distance job applications

Do you mean that you are claiming the 10 points for having arranged employment in Skills Classes A, B or 0?

In that case I don't know for definite, but I would imagine you would have to show that...
