You don't "have to" do AOS. You can, if you wish do Consular Processing in your home country which is often a lot faster and more straightforward. You should probably check what your number is...

Thats a pretty low number and she should get called early. I did CP which was very easy and very straightforward. Others that I know did AOS and it turned into a very long drawn out process....
