Default Irish Passport/visa?

Hi, I could use some help. My wife holds an Irish passport (Southern
Ireland) and wishes to travel to the US in late january for a short break,
does she require a visa. We know that it was required in 1991 when we last
travelled there, but have since heard that this has now changed and there is
no requirement for one now. I would be most grateful for any replies,
Thank's in advance.

Hi:

Assuming no prior arrests or any visa denials etc... she should be able to use the visa waiver program. Full details are available from wesite of the US Embassy in Ireland. www.usembassy.ie
