Another thing I just remembered too..... they featured an "Immigration Consultant" type lady - advisor on visas + business broker. So wish they hadn't done that and had featured a real Immigration...

My suggestion would be to spend the money on buying Turbo Tax (or similar) and let it do the work for you. If you rented it for less that the cost of the mortgage you should be able to deduct that...
