Glad it went well.
Wasting police time- hardly. The police came away looking sensible, and a mediator of sorts. A LOT of people would have been scared enough to hand over a new phone in order to avoid getting involved with the police- as if they were Kim Jong Il's private bodyguards or something.
Dispelling these Daily Mail myths about the police is a great use of police time.

i went today...my first time ever in mirdif actually...it's a really nice mall i think, not too big and a good layout, some great shops in there and some nice restaurants too (carluccio's, mango tree bistro)...looks like it will be great for mirdif residents and i think will have a big impact on festival city which i don't like much anyway...

well...my son just told me school has now decided that he needs to pay for half of the broken phone and in order to do that, he has to come to school on Saturday and wash cars in to raise money for that....WTF?
first the school does everything not to interfere and to let us solve the matter between us and the other parents, on request of the other parents we go to the police, who told us there is no case, the boy even got a new phone and now this...
