Why are you so obsessed with celebrities? They are just people, who like everyone else in this world, shit, fart and probably leave a wet patch in the bed.

You also need to take your rose tinted glasses off about Manchester. I'm not from the North (I'm a softy southerner according to my Northern mates) but I've been to the town heaps of times, had some fantastic nights out there and think most of the people are great. However, I still saw the seedy side of the place and quite frankly there are some absolute crapholes just as there are in London and any other large city in the UK.
