Who here is planning on going to the info sessions this week? The police minister and assistant commissioner will be attending and taking questions

Went to the London afternoon one, really informative, deputy commissioner was present but no police minister. Was really good to chat to serving officers who have made the transition

I know that to be a detective for example, you need to be a citizen, which takes at least 4 years from having PR. So who knows if other specialisms, also have that requirement for access to more sensitive stuff, I guess like how some people here are DV vetted but normal officers aren't? just a thought.

If you’re in a specialist role and want to get back to one as soon as possible reconsider your plans as you may end up very unhappy. If you’re coming for a change of lifestyle and work is secondary, you will be very happy.

Just been to recruitment event . Very interesting , the one thing I think officers need to figure out with a decent length of service would be pension .I've got 20 years in . Has anyone had any financial advice about the UK pension and what would happen to it ? I think up to a certain amount in pension would not make much of a difference

I dud hear that , I think I'll have to ring up and get advice. Probably why they were saying they were looking for people between 3 to 7 years. No skin in the game so to speak. Easy to dip out of UK to transfer
