Based on everything I’ve read and then heard, it’s 100% response in Perth CBD and for me so it should be, they need front line uniformed officers to plug the shortages. With working response here the job can surely only get better haha. That said, response for me is still the greatest role in policing.

Having my doubts now though that I’ve got through given the 7 week wait and counting.

I did my interview coming up to 3 weeks ago, so I believe its another 3 weeks or so till I hear, but lets remember they have got bout 900 applicants, they can be forgiven if they go over that. The way i see it is, they do need to chose the right people, and based on what is said in interviews and and each persons individual circumstances, they may put some back a bit to progress ones that would be in a better position to transition early. I personally couldn't move till early next year, so i have time.
I too have 14 years in and currently in a specialist department, but spent 12.5 years on response, quite happy to go back to it. I moved for a few reasons, but I have been police not just in the UK for a long time, I still love to catch baddies and I keep myself in shape to out run the criminals and the new recruits :-)
They have opened the recruiting to include up to the age of 55 and the minimum years in the job is 3 years, I can understand why they would prefer 3 to 7 years but I am sure they will welcome those with more experience as it benefits them. We have the knowledge how to police, we have the verbal and mental skills to deal with what comes our way, so I am sure they not going to dismiss you because of this advantage.
Remember also , that cost , visa and fear will deter and exclude many.

Spire hospitals seem able to do it, I ended up going to a private GP who could do it quicker in Winchester but that cost about 350 and then extra for the additional test.

The usual PR visa medical can only be done in about 6 places in the UK, costs probably 400 upwards these days, and also often involves travel/hotels because of the distances involved. I honestly don't know if Immigration will accept the WAPOL medicals in lieu of this.
