Our first number was 3233, the neighbour up the street didn't have a phone and used to get his mates to call our house. We had to run up and get him to take his calls.

He was phoning you himself...he just wanted you to go running up the street to find him

I remember going to school orchestra practice in the evenings and having coffee in a break and feeling quite grown up because we weren't (yet) allowed it during the day.
