"Cost of living adjustment" to wages back in the 70s.
Low, medium or high risk power cut charts in the papers allowing a flask of coffee or soup to be made up just in case.

Remember tracing paper? We used to draw around a shape in a text book (usually a country in our geography lesson) then place the tracing paper on a clean page of our exercise books and draw over the lines again till the lead came through and then draw over the lines in our book. What an effort!
The teachers used a 'Gestetner' copier with purple ink that smelled funny.
One of my many primary school memories was at the end of term one person was picked to take the gerbil home for the holidays. Now my mum hated those furry creatures and said there was no way I would be allowed to bring it home. Of course, one day I was picked and the teacher insisted I took it home. As she was picking it up to give it a cuddle goodbye for the holiday, it jumped out of her hands and ran round the room..... I wasn't allowed to leave till it was found and so I got a double bashing from my mum for a) being late out of school and b) bringing the 'rat' home!

As far as the gerbil is concerned, ours was a hamster and I always wanted to take it home but never did

Football Crazys's and fish and chips (the crisps not the seaside food) they cost 5p from our junior school tuck shop and they bring back memories of the hazy summer days of the 70's!!!!!
And jelly bean shoes and drainpipe jeans with the stripe down the side - worn of course with a 'funky' belt and a black harrington jacket with your name in silver ironed on the back. (yes my fashion sense was shocking back then too)
