Remember the films at the cinema that used to have a trailer (often an interesting travel documentary) then the interval before the main feature film. During the interval there was a person with a tray tied round their neck selling ice cream tubs and Kia Ora orange juice.
It didn't matter if you arrived mid film, cos you sat there till it went round again to the point you came in.
At my local Odeon, one kid would pay and then hold open the fire exit for the rest of the 'gang' to get in free.
Oooh and in those days smoking was allowed in the cinema too!!

About 6 years ago we moved to North Wales and during our first weeks there the new Harry Potter came out. We went to a small idependent cinema the only cinema we could find within 90mins of home.. The flim stopped halfway through for an interval ( I got so excited) and the lady came round with a tray of icecreams etc I couldn't beleive it!! the kids were so very very embarrassed

I had to sit on my own for the rest of the film!!!
