The very first plastic flower I'd ever seen - tulips given away with Omo or Daz? Everyone had a vase of them in the window - the soap powder was flying off the shelves just to get a bunch!
There's a tale about this too. The washing powder company were trying to introduce their powder to some part of Africa - but the locals weren't interested...so they reversed the deal, selling the tulips and giving the powder free. It worked apparently too!

Big container of sweets behind the shop counter, and getting 1/4lb of Hard Gums in a paper bag. Also getting the empty containers to put our cereal in at home.
